Following Don Bosco's ideals, the Salesians support street children and young adults who are marginalized and without perspectives for their future.
In the middle of this world's slums and ghettos, there is a growing hope for many children and youngsters to be able to take their future into their own hands.
Worldwide, the Salesians Don Boscos commit themselves to children an young adults in order to help them to build a future worth living for. In more than 130 countries around the globe, they are working with and for young people who are deprived of basic needs and resources, for those who have lacked opportunities, faced exploitation and stigmatization like physical and sexual abuse.
As a "Don Bosco Volunteer", you have the support of the weltwärts-Programm of the German Ministry for Econmic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Our programs are aimed at young people who are motivated, committed and want to help with joy. Whoever is dedicated to put his heart and mind into the service of destitute and abandoned children, will find his place here.
Following the motto "help abroad", the "Andere Dienst im Ausland" can be recognized as an alternative for "Social Service" for German conscientious objectors.
In Germany the selection, placement, preperation and support are regionally divided:
